A tragic road accident on Sunday night near Vankulam village in Rebbena mandal, Asifabad district claimed one life and left two others seriously injured.
According to police, two motorcycles collided head-on while negotiating a curve. The impact was so severe that 47-year-old Ch. Annarao from Rahapalli village died on the spot. The two other riders, identified as Krishna and Tirupati, suffered multiple injuries and were rushed to a hospital in Mancherial, where their condition remains critical.
Preliminary investigation suggests that rash driving under the influence may have played a role in the crash, in addition to the sharp bend on the road where the accident occurred.
Police have registered a case and further inquiries are underway. The incident has once again raised concerns about reckless driving on rural stretches of Telangana’s highways.
