Why Agatha Dies in Agatha All Along and Returns as Ghost

Let’s break down why Agatha bites the dust in the song “Agatha All Along.”

In the final episode of “Agatha All Along,” Agatha Harkness sacrifices herself to preserve Billy’s life. This act was a calculated risk for Agatha, as she had made a pact with Death (Rio) earlier in the episode. The agreement stipulated that Agatha must convince Billy to utter a specific phrase that would trigger her demise. However, due to the hex created by Wanda Maximoff, Billy had entered another body, adding complexity to the situation.

The finale episodes of Agatha: All Along contained several unexpected developments, including the death of Agatha Harkness and her decision to save Billy Maximoff. Agatha’s actions, particularly her choice to save Billy, were surprising and can be interpreted as a calculated risk.

Initially, she planned to hand over Billy to Rio (death). Rio insisted that someone must accompany him, either Rio or Billy. Agatha proposed that she would force Billy to say the word, and then Rio could take him. However, the ending of the “Agatha All Along” episode took an unexpected turn.

Billy pops into Agatha’s mind and asks, “Is this how Nicholas Scratch died?” Agatha freaks out and sacrifices herself. She goes to Rio, kisses her, and then dies. It’s intense!

So, Billy Maximoff (aka Wiccan) goes into Agatha Harkness’s mind and starts questioning her. He’s pretty upset about her betrayal and brings up Nicholas’s death. Agatha then goes to Rio, kisses her, and boom – Agatha Harkess dies and then she returns as Ghost.
